A bomb threat prompted the evacuation of the Cal State Los Angeles campus on Thursday, officials said.
Police received a call at 10:45 a.m. from a male caller making a vague threat against CSULA and Berkeley, said El Monte PD watch commander Lt. Dan Burlingham.
The campus was evacuated at noon and students were told to go home.
Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Richard French told the Associated Press the search concluded at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday and no bomb was found.
The call was traced to a pay phone in the 11200 block of Garvey Avenu in El Monte, Burlingham said.
Traffic snaked around the school as students left the campus for the day. Both Metro and Metrolink, which operate bus and rail systems in LA County, reported on Twitter that the agencies were re-routing service around the campus.
