Lucky Ducks Rescued from OC Storm Drain

A family of ducks had luck on their side Saturday night, when they were rescued from an Orange County storm drain.

But it wasn't a quick rescue: Firefighters needed 30 minutes to free the birds after they were reported trapped at around 8 p.m., according to a Costa Mesa Fire Department tweet.

Video from the scene showed firefighters sawing through sidewalk to get to the ducklings. They were trapped in a storm drain in the 3300 block of Hyland Avenue, fire officials said.
