At least 12 people were wounded on Saturday when a Metrolink train collided with a dump truck in Pacoima, at one of the most dangerous rail crossings in Los Angeles County, officials said.
The crash occurred at San Fernando Road near Branford Street in Pacoima at 2:30 p.m., officials said.
The train was traveling from Lancaster and was headed south to downtown Los Angeles' Union Station, said Jeff Lustgarten, a Metrolink spokesman.
The train, which had 190 passengers aboard, was traveling 70 mph, the posted speed limit in the area, officials said.
The dump truck flipped over, but the driver was not hurt.
At least nine people on the train were hospitalized, fire officials said.
Firefighters gave passengers water and snacks while they waited for the train for about two hours to go back to the Sylmar station where they would be taken by bus to downtown, officials said.

Officials have recorded 19 such collisions at the rail crossing where Saturday's incident occurred, the most of any other in LA County since 2011, Metrolink officials said.
