A mother was killed and her two young children were hurt when they were struck by a pickup truck in Montebello on Wednesday night, police said.
The trio was walking about 8:35 p.m. in the 400 block of North Garfield Avenue (map) when they were hit, the Montebello Police Department said.
The mother died of her injuries, police said.
The mother and her 5-year-old and 9-year-old child were not walking in a crosswalk, according to City News Service.
The children suffered minor injuries. Police said they were reunited with the other parent.
The pickup remained at the scene.
No further details were immediately available.
