April 30th 2015 marked the 40th anniversary of the fall of Saigon. As part of our look back at that historic day, and what it means to Vietnamese Americans now living in the Bay Area, I traveled to Eugene, Oregon to re-connect with the incredible people who sponsored my parents, my two uncles, my great-aunt, and me to the United States. They helped us make the transition from Vietnam to America, and they did it with generosity and selflessness.
