‘Saw' Maze: New at Halloween Horror Nights

The September opening draws closer while Jigsaw is readying his creepy cameo.

Instantly recognizing the voice of a cinematic horror legend, and instantly feeling a mixture of dread and curiosity?

Pretty much any fright fan knows, from the very first word spoken, the inimitable vocal stylings of Freddy Krueger or Jack Torrance, the temporary, typewriter-wielding caretaker of the Overlook Hotel.

But there's another skin-prickling icon of the vocal-familiar form, and while his voice can bring a shudder or three, so can his singular, and singularly scary, catchphrase: "Do you want to play a game?"

It's Jigsaw, of course, a figure that has so memorably, and so macabre-tastically, asked that very question on the big screen through a series of blockbuster "Saw" films over the last 13 years.

Now the tauntful, chat-having, ten-steps-ahead character is headed for his own deviously twisty original maze at the 2017 Halloween Horror Nights. The maze's name? "Saw: The Games of Jigsaw."

Hoo boy.

The maze-filled, attraction-eeky spectacular, which will debut for its upcoming run on Friday, Sept. 15, made the revelation on Monday, Aug. 14, an announcement that may inspire even the most devoted movie fans to instantly put their hackles up.

But those hackles won't stay up for long: The "Saw" maze will open at the Universal Studios Hollywood event in just over a month, giving fans little time to ponder what traps Jigsaw might be setting for them.

And while the maze will hearken back to past "Saw" films, count it also to pay terrifying tribute to the eighth installment of the Lionsgate hit, "JIGSAW," which will be released on Oct. 27, 2017.

"Saw" will join mazes inspired by "The Shining," "Ash vs Evil Dead", "American Horror Story: Roanoke," and the very recently announced "Titans of Terror Tram" and "Titans of Terror" maze.

A brand-new RIP Tour is also giving monster-loving mavens a chance to head to the front of the lines, with a guide, as well as valet parking and a buffet dinner with drinks, too.

If you're visiting Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Orlando this year, take note: Jigsaw will not be outwitted. The "Saw" maze will also open at the Florida fear festival in addition to Halloween Horror Nights in Hollywood.

Universal Studios Hollywood and NBC Owned TV Stations operate under the same parent company NBCUniversal.
