Search Continues for Missing Baby Out of Happy Valley in Northern California

Authorities continue to search for a baby who went missing last week in Northern California.

Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko said Monday that searchers are still trying to find 6-month-old Ember Skye Graham of the community of Happy Valley.

Over 90 law enforcement search and rescue personnel have been searching in the Happy Valley and south Redding areas, according to Bosenko. The search team also includes Bay Area law enforcement, including Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office and Marin County’s Sheriff’s Office.

Bosenko said in addition to law enforcement, about 60 family members and friends are on the search, with rough terrain, smoldering heat and wildlife plaguing their efforts.

The Record Searchlight reported Monday that the focus is on the baby's father, Matthew Ryan Graham, who's in jail on an unrelated probation violation.

Police said Matthew Graham became a person of interest in his daughter's disappearance after giving inconsistent statements to investigators.

He reported the baby missing Thursday morning, saying he last saw her in her crib Wednesday night.

The infant's mother, Jamie Graham, said she's focused on finding the girl and has seen no evidence her husband did anything wrong.

Anyone with information on Ember Graham is asked to contact Shasta County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit at 530-245-6135 or Sheriff’s Records at 530-245-6025.
