Final Brown-Warren Debate Scrapped in Massachusetts

U.S. Senate race will make due with 3 debates

Organizers of a planned fourth and final debate between Republican U.S. Sen. Scott Brown and Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren have canceled efforts to reschedule the debate.

The debate was originally set for Tuesday, but Brown pulled out saying he was concerned about "the hardship faced by people" in the path of Monday's hurricane.

Warren also agreed that the debate should not take place on Tuesday, but later said she'd participate in a rescheduled debate on Thursday.

Brown on Tuesday refused to commit to the Thursday timeslot, despite pledging twice in recent days that a final debate would happen.

Late Tuesday a Brown spokesman said the campaign's schedule could not accommodate the fourth debate pointing to what he called a long-planned bus tour.

The organizers said they gave both campaigns "multiple options" to reschedule.
