Smoky Earns His Wings

(Dec. 28, 2008) Here's an update from the caretakers of a Great Horned owl rescued by a firefighter from the Sayre fire in November: "Just wanted to let you all know that Smoky the owl will be spending his first night tonight outside in the aviary. He is back to 100 percent so we will be acclimating him back to the outdoors with three other Great Horned owls in rehab. January is mating season, so I plan to release him back into the wild in the next few weeks."
