Pot in Pacific Heights? More Medical Marijuana Mulled in SF

City considers change to rules around medical cannabis

How much medical pot is too much?

San Francisco aims to find out.

The city by the bay is looking into a change to its medical marijuana laws, according to the San Francisco Examiner.

Currently, zoning rules passed in 2005 keep about 90 percent of the city off-limits to medical cannabis dispensaries, the newspaper reported. That's led the city's two-dozen dispensaries to "cluster" in certain areas -- the areas where they are allowed.

That led to one city supervisor passing restrictions on extra dispensaries opening up in his district after three openened their doors, including two on the same block.

The city will produce a report by May 1 that would examine opening up more areas of the city to medical marijuana.

Could this mean medical marijuana in Pacific Heights? It could.
