If you want to get away, but not very far away this is a good day.

Southwest Airlines announced a two day $39 sale for destinations under 500 miles.

That will get you from the Bay Area to all locations in Southern California, as well as Las Vegas

Seattle, Portland and Salt Lake City are just outside the 500 mile range.

Tom Parsons, CEO of BestFares.com, told the Associated Press that Delta, American, United, Continental and US Airways have already decided to match the price on routes where they compete with Southwest.

Here's the catch: You have to travel between March 15 and May 25, you can't fly on Friday or Sunday, and you have to purchase the ticket before tomorrow at midnight.
