Area Woman Covers Entire Smiths Catalog

Some bands have fans and some bands have fans. The epic British band the Smiths are one of those bands. And a San Jose woman is one of those fans.

Last year Janice Whaley spent hours in her home, recording every single Smiths song, using no instruments, only her voice, says the Chronicle.

Between working full-time, and tending to her 5-year-old son, she managed to crank out 71 songs in the band's official library.

"It hit me that life is so short, and if you're going to do something, you have to do it now," Whaley says. "More importantly, what do you leave behind after you go? I want to leave music behind, not the regret of not having done it."

Whatley's songs can be found on her blog, The Smiths Project.
