Boy Scout Leader Sentenced on Child Porn Charges

A man has been sentenced to three years of formal probation and ordered to perform 200 hours of volunteer work for possessing child pornography, according to the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office.
David Adler, 49, of San Jose, was convicted Sept. 14 of a misdemeanor charge of possession of child pornography in two computers, at home and at work.
Adler is a former Scoutmaster for a Boy Scout troop and has worked as a chief technologist for Silicon Valley semiconductor company KLA-Tencor, according to the district attorney's office. He was arrested in August 2006.
He is required to register as a sex offender for life and is also prohibited from participating in organized activities involving minors during his probation, according to the district attorney's office.
