More than 60 pounds uncovered in Dublin home

Police seized more than 64 pounds of illegal fireworks from a home in Dublin Thursday, just two days after Oakland police busted a man with what they say is the largest amount of fireworks they have found in the city's history.
Special investigations officers served a warrant at a home in the 8400 block of Davona Drive, according to Dublin police, who had received reports of residents selling fireworks from a home in the neighborhood.
Police searched the home and reported finding mortar rockets, firecrackers, Roman candles, aerial fireworks and M-1000 explosives, which are the equivalent of a quarter stick of dynamite, according to police.
Explosive disposal officers from the Alameda County Sheriff's Office also responded to the scene to aid the investigation.
Christina Frye, 24 and Shane Frye, 32, were arrested for possession of a destructive device and booked at Santa Rita jail.
The bust comes in the same week Oakland police uncovered more than 2,000 pounds of illegal fireworks at a home.
Oakland police on Tuesday night arrested a 65-year-old man who was allegedly selling fireworks out of a home in the city, police Officer Jeff Thomason said.
Gabriel Bueno and a second person were arrested after someone tipped them off to someone selling illegal fireworks in the 1400 block of 40th Avenue, Thomason said.
A short time later, police conducted an undercover sting operation and discovered more than a ton of fireworks, many of which were professional-grade, Thomason said. He said it was the largest amount of fireworks found by police in the city's history.
"There were enough fireworks to destroy that house and many other houses in the neighborhood," Thomason said.
