Race Thru The Redwoods

NATURE WALK: Go on a 2-mile walk with a park ranger at Sanborn County Park in Saratoga. Get some exercise and a lesson in plants and animals that live among us. Wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring sunscreen and plenty of water. Meet at the park office at 10 a.m.

FREE WEEKEND AT NATIONAL PARKS: Discover the beauty of the National Parks system -- for free this weekend. Entrance fees are waived to help get more people to the parks. The San Francisco Maritime Museum is one of the parks on the list. Take in the beauty of the bay as you discover the history of the maritime roots of the City by the Bay. Plenty of activities are planned for this weekend at the museum.

RUN THROUGH THE WOODS: Lace up your running shoes and head to Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park in Felton for Race Thru The Redwoods. Every member of the family is welcome for this moderate 10k course on paved roads and scenic trails through the redwoods and along the San Lorenzo River. The race starts at 8:30 a.m. Sunday.
