Twitter has been the news a lot lately and got another shout out today when a suicidal San Jose woman told her story on national television.

Inside Edition says 47-year-old Sandie Guy is the one who tweeted actress Demi Moore earlier this month, "I'm just wondering if anyone cares that I'm gonna kill myself now."

Moore took the threat seriously and responded, as did many other Twitter users who had access to Moore's tweets.

The San Jose Police Department received several calls about the threat beginning at 3 a.m. on a Friday morning.  Police said the calls came from across the country.

Here are the "Tweets:"

"Getting a knife, a big one that is sharp. Going to cut my arm down the whole arm so it doesn't waste time," wrote Guy.

Moore responded, "Hope you are joking," and "Everyone I was very torn about responding or retweeting that woman’s post but felt uncomfortable just letting it  go."

Another user wrote, "The twitterverse is on the case just called Silicon Valley PD to report this woman many others had called. fingers crossed."

Police were able to locate Guy, who was not hurt. They took her in "for evaluation."

Later that day Moore thanked her followers for their help.

"Thanks everyone for reaching out to the San Jose PD i am told they are aware and no need to call anymore. I do not know this woman," Moore wrote. "I am inspired by the enormous response of humanity here and thank you… It is my understanding that the situation was not a joke and that through the collective efforts here action was taken to provide help!”

Guy told Inside Edition, "I was on Twitter and I didn't realize everyone was going to see it."

"I was trying to deal with it in the most healthy way I could think of. I did have a knife next to me."

She told the TV show that she is an advertising executive and was going through a difficult divorce.
