The Sunnyvale Department of Public safety is investigating a fatal collision Sunday afternoon.
The collision occurred in the area of South Wolfe Road and North Fair Oaks Avenue, according to a post on the department's Twitter account.
One pedestrian was killed at the scene and another suffered major injuries, public safety officials said. Police said the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
The public is advised to avoid the area as police conduct an investigation, officials said. The area will be closed for several hours, police said.
