1 Dead, 3 Injured in Vallejo Shooting: Police

Three people were injured and one killed in a shooting in south Vallejo late Friday afternoon.

The victims were found in a black Monte Carlo in a driveway at 509 Porter Street, and the suspects drove by and fled in a maroon sedan, police said.

"It was quiet on the street then all of a sudden it was a battle zone," neighbor Brad Flaherty said.

A man died at the scene. Another man was seriously wounded, a woman was shot in the hand and a 9-year-old child suffered a head injury possibly from a bullet, police said, adding the injured are expected to survive.

"We believe they were shooting at the two victims in the driveway, and the bullets passed the victims and entered the house, striking two additional victims inside the house," Vallejo police Capt. John Whitney said.

The shooting happened around 3:50 p.m. at Porter and McLean streets.

"Sounded like two hand guns going off," Flaherty said. "Two people shot and another person reloaded and shot another clip."

Police said they have no motive or description of the suspects.
