Firefighters are battling a 10-acre vegetation fire near Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
The blaze broke out at 1:15 p.m. Sunday, prompting evacuations at the park, according to fire officials.
Salinas firefighters responded to the fire with ground and air units and said they were making good progress on its containment.
Billowing smoke also could be seen in Monterey.
