A California mayor many believe has aspirations for higher office will be in San Francisco Thursday to meet with several local groups.
Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is scheduled meet with a group of lawyers who support gun control measures, the San Francisco Chronicle's editorial board and former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown.
Villaraigosa will visit the San Francisco Chronicle with current San Francisco Mayor Edwin Lee.
The visit is just a day trip for the mayor, who is scheduled to return to Los Angeles Thursday evening.
But before he leaves, Villaraigosa is also scheduled to deliver the keynote speech at the 18th anniversary dinner of the Legal Community Against Violence.
The mayor of California's largest city will talk about how Los Angeles has fought gun and gang violence through innovative programs.
