A power outage is affected more than 1,800 customers in San Rafael and San Anselmo this evening, according to a Pacific Gas and Electric spokesman.
The outage, reported at 4:41 p.m., is affecting 1,828 customers in the area, PG&E spokesman J.D. Guidi said.
Police are warning drivers to avoid downtown San Rafael because the outage is affecting traffic signals in the area and causing traffic congestion.
The cause of the outage remains under investigation but PG&E
expects to restore power by 8 p.m., Guidi said.
