    A three-alarm fire in Oakland’s Chinatown displaced about 20 people early Friday morning. Oakland firefighters raced to put out the flames in the 800 block of International Avenue near 8th Street about 2:30 a.m. (Published Friday, Aug. 14, 2015)

    A three-alarm fire in Oakland’s Chinatown displaced about 20 people early Friday morning when six apartment units were damaged because of the smoke and flames.

    Oakland firefighters raced to put out the blaze in the 800 block of International Avenue near 8th Street about 2:30 a.m.

    According to a witness, it appeared as though the fire started above a jewelry shop.
