3 Climbers Rescued from Spillway at Anderson Dam

Cal Fire crews rescued three people who got stuck climbing the face of the Anderson Reservoir Dam just outside of Morgan Hill Thursday afternoon, a Cal Fire battalion chief said.

The three climbers were reported stuck about halfway up the face of the dam at about 2 p.m., Battalion Chief Brandon Leitzke said.

They realized they couldn't get back down the dam and either they or a bystander called for help, Leitzke said.

The climbers were pulled out with a helicopter. Cal Fire crews were assisted by responders from Morgan Hill, San Jose and Santa Clara County.

No injuries were reported.

The climbers "just got themselves in a predicament," Leitzke said.
