3 Strikes Takes Crook Way Out

One San Fransisco man learned the hard way that crime does not pay.

Daniel Longorio was sentenced to 198 years to life -- just in case he breaks some world record -- to prison under California's three-strikes law, according to the San Francisco Examiner.

The convicted thief attempted to escape from officers after being arrested for armed home invasion robberies.

Longorio was only able to get away about 1,000-feet before officers were able to apprehend him.

In court, the 39-year-old asked the judge to forgive his past felonies to save him from the three-strikes rule. But the judge refused and allowed the sentence to stand.

The silver lining for Longorio: The Judge gave him credit for serving 905 days of his sentence.
