Flare-Up of Wragg Fire in Solano County Grows to 400 Acres: Cal Fire

A flare-up Tuesday of the Wragg Fire in Wildhorse Canyon in Solano County reached 400 acres and an evacuation center has been established in Vacaville, Cal Fire officials said. 

The fire intensity increased around 1:15 p.m. on the south side of the fire, but the blaze is still within the secondary containment lines, according to Cal Fire.

Mandatory evacuations were ordered for Mix Canyon, Sky Ranch and Blue Ridge roads, which have an estimated 136 homes and 200 residents, Cal Fire officials said.

A very large DC-10 air tanker was requested to fight the flare-up.

The evacuation center is in the Ulatis Community Center at 1000 Ulatis Drive in Vacaville, according to Cal Fire. A spokesman said no one had shown up at the center as of about 4 p.m. and the American Red Cross was still setting up operations.

Road closures include Mix Canyon Road at Pleasants Valley Road, Sky Ranch Road at Mix Canyon Road to Pleasants Valley Road, Gates Canyon Road at Pleasants Valley Road, Putah Creek Road at Pleasants Valley Road South, Cantelow Road at Pleasants Valley Road, and Vaca Valley Road East at Pleasants Valley Road.

The fire that has burned nearly 6,600 acres was reported 80 percent contained Tuesday morning. It started Wednesday afternoon in the Lake Berryessa area of Napa County.
