30-Year-Old Woman Has Heart Attack During SF Marathon

Paramedics rushed to the section of the Rock n' Roll Half Marathon near Marina Boulevard and Laguna Street at about 9:45 a.m. when they heard that one of the participants had collapsed.

A 30-year-old woman suffered a heart attack while running a half-marathon in San Francisco today, a fire department spokesperson said.

Paramedics rushed to the section of the Rock n' Roll Half Marathon near Marina Boulevard and  Laguna Street at about 9:45 a.m. when they heard that one of the participants had collapsed.

When first responders arrived, the woman was in cardiac arrest, but paramedics were able to revive her, according to the fire department.

The woman was taken to a hospital a remains in serious condition, according to a fire department spokesman.
