A fire sparked near the Silver Creek Country Club in East San Jose on Friday evening, according to Cal Fire officials.
Located on the 1700 block of Echo Canyon Court, the blaze was reported at 3:47 p.m., a fire dispatcher said. It grew to between seven and 10 acres before 4:30 p.m. and then slowed down, officials said, adding that no structures were threatened.
The San Jose Fire Department responded with 10 fire engines while Cal Fire sent six engines, two dozers, three hand crews, once chopper, one battalion chief and two air tankers, officials said.
