49ers Looking at Redskins Corner

49ers fans frustrated by the team's lack of aggressiveness in the free agent market were assured over the weekend that there is a plan.

That plan could include a new corner back and a highly touted one. No the 49ers have not worked out a trade for Nnamdi Asomugha and both Nate Clements and Jonathan Joseph have signed elsewhere.

But after losing out on the biggest free agent prize of the off season, Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee reports that the corner back-desperate 49ers are interested in Washington Redskins' defensive back Carlos Rogers.

The Redskins chose the 6 foot, 190 pound, Rogers ninth overall in the 2005 draft. He is considered a talented cover man who has a habit of dropping would be interceptions.

The Carolina Panthers are also reportedly interested in Rogers.
