49ers-Seahawks Bets Cost San Francisco Fans Lots of Crab

San Francisco 49ers fans who wagered bets on the Seattle game were probably feeling a little crabby on Monday.

The owners of the Alioto-Lazio Fish Company at Fisherman's Wharf say many customers wagered Dungeness crabs on the game.  They discovered the crab-wagering when they suddenly got a lot of shipping orders following the Niners loss in last year's Super Bowl.

Monday, they said they're starting to get a number of orders following Sunday night's loss.

Many of the orders are accompanied by notes.

“They’re saying, ‘Enjoy your win with the best crab in the country," the Fish Company's Angel Cincotta said. "Some are saying, ‘Congrats on the big win,’ ‘Good win,’ or ‘You’re the winner.’"

The owners say the bets aren't just a couple crabs: They're sometimes enough to feed a whole office, including sourdough bread.

So far, the owners say they’ve had to ship crab as far away as Arkansas.

The Seahawks won the game 23-17. They'll face the Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII on Feb. 2.
