California Bill Would Make It Easier For Cell Phone Companies to Install Antennae

A plan to make it easier for wireless providers to install cellular antennae in California neighborhoods is being considered by state lawmakers.

The San Francisco Planning Department says Verizon is about to install more than 60 cellular antennae on wooden poles in Russian Hill, but neighbors here are fighting the plan.

Assembly Bill 57 would make it harder to keep those antennae out of neighborhoods.

San Francisco city leaders say they are joining forces with other cities across the state to defeat AB57.
