Hit-and-Run Havoc in Hilly San Francisco

Driver plows into string of vehicles parked on Russian Hill street

Parking in San Francisco, famous for its absurd inclines, is hazardous to begin with. But now police are investigating a hit-and-run rollover crash in the Russian Hill neighborhood that left behind a string of smashed vehicles.

At 2:45 a.m. Friday, the driver of a white Mercedes SUV apparently drove north down the steep hill of Taylor Street, plowing into eight cars and pickup trucks along the way, police said.

The SUV flipped over after the impact, coming to rest at Union Street near Taylor.

Police are still searching for the SUV's driver. There was no information about any injuries.
