A rope that was tied to resemble a noose was found in a campus stairwell at UCSD, according to campus police.
The rope is described as thin and fashioned into a loop. It was found in Mandeville Hall last week. Police say they have no leads and are hoping to find any witnesses.
This isn't the first time this has happened on the campus in recent months. Another dangling noose was found in a campus library in February.
A student later came forward, and was suspended.
The incident promoted a flurry of meetings with administration to discuss the issue of racial tensions on campus.
