The age-old tension between California and Oregon is heating up.
Stickers of the Golden State with a line through it have popped up on signs advertising Oregon homes for sale.
Other anti-Californian sentiments are being added to signs. Oregon real estate agent Lori Fenwick told The Oregonian that she put up a for sale sign at a house and her name was covered up with a sticker that said, "Stop the bubble."
Oregon residents have long accused Californians of driving up real estate prices when they move north, where average home prices are almost $700,000 less.
The Oregonian later said the story incited a "border skirmish," with commenters at the publication and to SFGate taking the opportunity to take pot shots at each other.
"I thought Canada was above California . . . who cares?" a Californian wrote on SFGate. "Californians and everyone else that is moving in, please leave. Gentrify the other 49 states. Thank you!" retorted an Oregonian.
