Arson Investigators Probe 3 Early Morning Fires Reported in Same Hayward Apartment Complex

    The two-alarm fire, which occurred at the Courtyard apartments on the 24000 block of Silva Avenue, was reported at about 3:36 a.m. Kris Sanchez reports. (Published Monday, Aug. 3, 2015)

    Arson investigators are probing three fires that sparked early Monday in the same Hayward complex, fire officials said.

    According to officials, the two-alarm fire, which occurred at the Courtyard apartments on the 24000 block of Silva Avenue, was reported at about 3:36 a.m. One blaze started in the laundry room while the other two broke out in separate stairwells, they said.

    Crews evacuated the building and were able to douse the flames before they spread.

    Officials said two people sustained minor smoke injuries.
