Auditor Expected to Present Report on San Jose Police Tuesday

An independent auditor is expected to present a report on the San Jose Police Department to San Jose City Council members and the mayor on Tuesday.

The report revealed an increased number of formal complaints against police officers.

In all, 35 officers broke rules, some as simple as speeding, according to the audit. Other violations include ignoring rape claims and failing to investigate a young boy reported missing.

The report also points out that of 177 allegations of excessive force by officers last year, internal investigations claimed none were legitimate.
