Auditor Says San Jose Police Need More Transparency Amidst National Racial Tensions: Report

San Jose's top independent police auditor said in her final report the San Jose Police Department operates under a cloud of racial bias and needs more transparency, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

Independent police auditor LaDoris Cordell issued her final annual report before retiring in July.

According to the Mercury, she is urging the department to expand its racial accountability, especially in how it responds to complaints about racial bias by officers.

San Jose police has not responded to the report.
