BART Announces Delays on Red-Line Trains

BART officials have announced that Red-line trains will have reduced service Saturday due to maintenance work at the Daly City station.

The Red-line, which travels between Richmond and Daly City, will only operate as far as Montgomery Street station and then return to Richmond from Montgomery, officials said.

Passengers traveling to San Francisco who don't want to wait for a Red-line train can board a Fremont-bound train and transfer at MacArthur station. Fremont trains operate 12 minutes before and eight minutes after the scheduled times of the Richmond-San Francisco trains.

Green-line service from Fremont and Blue-line service from Dublin/Pleasanton, will only operate as far as the 24th Street station.

Yellow-line service, which travels between Pittsburg/Bay Point and the San Francisco International Airport, will operate normally with a five- to 10-minute delay between Balboa Park and Colma stations.

Fremont and Dublin/Pleasanton passengers will need to transfer at the 24th Street station to a train providing yellow-line service to and from the Glen Park, Balboa Park and Daly City stations.

Crews at the Daly City station will be making mechanical, electrical, and structural improvements all over the station.

Scheduling maintenance work on the weekends has proven effective and efficient in recent months and allows BART crews to complete a large amount of work in a short period of time, according to BART officials.
