BART Derailment Causes Delays

A slow moving BART train derailed this morning heading from Concord to San Francisco.

The derailment has caused major delays on the Bay Point line in both directions, according to BART officials.

BART has arranged eight buses to serve as a "bridge" between Pleasant Hill and Pittsburg/Bay Point stations. Still, customers traveling to points west including San Francisco, SFO, Richmond and Fremont should try to begin their journey at Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek or Lafayette if they can.

The rerailment process was scheduled to begin before 2:00 p.m.

There were no injuries reported.
