BART Spokesman Reassigned Internally

Linton Johnson is back to work -- just in a different job.

Linton Johnson, the BART spokesman and former NBC Bay Area employee, is no longer the voice of the Bay Area Rapid Transit.

Johnson architected the decision to shut off cell phone service to squelch a planned protest on Aug. 11. The resulting criticism was withering and included alleged photos of Johnson partially nude in public.

Johnson, back from a leave of absence that began in August, told the San Francisco Examiner, "They're telling me I no longer speak for the district. If you want answers, you'll have to go to the communications department that I built."
