Bachelor Party Boat Needs Rescue

This bachelor story party will be hard to believe in the coming years.

A night out with the boys turned into a rescue mission for the U.S. Coast Guard.

A group of 18 men were out on a party boat Friday night taking part in a bachelor party when the boat hit a rock. This happened around 9 p.m. near Alcatraz.

The 40 foot vessel suffered a one foot gash. That was enough damage for the boat to take on water and the four crew members to call for help.

The bachelor said he and his friends were jolted forward when the boat hit the rock, but he was never afraid the boat was sinking.

Both the Coast Guard and the San Francisco fire department responded.

The group was safely on shore within an hour. The boat, named the Neptune, was towed to Sausalito.

One of the crew members said the boat accidentally got on the inside of the buoy and hit what is known as "little Alcatraz."

The good news is that no one was hurt.
