Bay Area Home to Some of the Country's Wealthiest

Yep, there are plenty of Bay Area residents on the list

    Oracle CEO Larry Ellison is the richest person in the Bay Area.

    Forbes list of the wealthiest Americans are out and the Bay Area is home to many of them, including one in the top 10.

    The magazine's 30th annual list of whose who in wealth was released Wednesday and the combined wealth of 400 members of the exclusive club is a staggering $1.53 trillion.

    The list is based on the projected net worth of the nation's wealthiest by a panel of experts.

    The top-earning Bay Area resident on the list is Oracle CEO and Woodside resident Larry Ellison, who came in at No. 3 with $33 billion.

    Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is the next Bay Area resident to appear on the list with a net worth of $17.5 billion thanks in large part to his shares in the Social Network.

    Zuckerberg made the biggest jump on the list. His value increased 154 percent or $10.5 billion since last year's list.

    On on the trail of the young Facebook CEO is the Google twins, Sergey Brin and Larry page, who both check in at No. 15 with an estimated worth of $16.7 billion.

    Former Apple CEO Steve Jobs comes in at No. 39 with an estimated value of $7 billion and former Google CEO Eric Schmidt came in at No. 50 with a $6.2 billion net worth.

    Other Bay Area notables on the list include, Facebook's Dustin Moskovitz, Charles Schwab, George Lucas, Meg Whitman, Jeffrey Skoll, Ray Dolby and William Randolph Hearst.
