12 Bay Area Schools Receive Blue Ribbon Award from U.S. Department of Education

A dozen Bay Area schools are recipients of the 2015 National Blue Ribbon Award from the U.S. Department of Education.

Principal Heidi Smith at Huff Elementary in Mountain View received an additional honor this year. This week, she and six other principals of blue ribbon recipient schools received the 2015 Terrel H. Bell Outstnding Leaders award.

Just over 7,000 schools in the U.S. have received this recognition as an "outstanding" school in the award’s 32-year history.
