Bay Area Transit Operating on Sunday Schedule

Most transit agencies will be operating on a Sunday schedule on the Fourth of July holiday, with some offering extra service for fireworks and other events.

Muni, AC Transit, BART, SamTrans and Caltrain all report that they will be operating on Sunday schedules on Monday.

BART will run extra trains in the evening to accommodate crowds attending the Embarcadero fireworks display in San Francisco.

BART will also run longer trains for baseball games in San Francisco and in Oakland in the afternoon. The Oakland Athletics are playing the Seattle Mariners at 1:05 p.m., and the San Francisco Giants will be playing the San Diego Padres at 2:05 p.m.

The Fourth is also a parking holiday for BART, meaning that parking permit and fee requirements at stations will not be enforced.

Muni expects to offer additional service and to reroute some lines in connection with the Fourth of July fireworks, and will also offer extra service to and from the Giants game.

Caltrain also will offer extra trains from San Francisco following the fireworks, departing at 11:15 p.m., 11:30 p.m. and 12:01 a.m. The last regularly scheduled train will leave San Francisco at 9:15 p.m.
