Bay to Breakers will have "sobering tents" for dealing with drunkards this year.

The Zazzle Bay to Breakers race is kind of known for a few things: crazy outfits, and being drunk. Organizers of the event are trying to keep the latter under control this year by offering "sobering tents" for drunkards, rather than sending them off to jail.

Sam Singer, a spokesman for the event, told the Examiner, the drinkers would be taken to the tents as an alternative to jail, because the race has put too much stress on The City's jails and hospitals.

He added that last year's race involved 26 ambulance trips, 30 tons of trash left behind, countless reports of public urination, and some reports of home invasion.

“Come in a costume, come naked, just don’t come drunk,” Singer said.
