Benicia High School Band Represents State In NYC

Panthers will march In New York's St. Patrick's Day Parade.

The Benicia High School Panthers will be the only high school band representing California in the St. Patrick's day parade in New York City.

They left San Francisco International Airport Tuesday night, heading to the Big Apple.

"We've been working hard on our endurance for the past two months.  It's suppose to be a two to three mile parade.  Hopefully we make it through the whole parade and sound good the whole time," Austin Reynolds said.

Sixty-eight out of 85 band members made the trip, paying close to $2,000 each.
