Bicyclist Dies After Being Hit by Garbage Truck in SF

    A bicyclist died Thursday after being struck by a garbage truck in San Francisco at 16th Street and Van Ness Avenue.

    A bicyclist died early Thursday morning after the person collided with a garbage truck in San Francisco.

    Police Officer Gordon Shyy said the fatal collision occurred about 6:45 a.m. at 16th Street and South Van Ness Avenue. The bicyclist died at the scene.

    The driver remained on scene and is cooperative. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected at this time, police said. This is an active investigation. No further details were provided.
