Big Money Required to Attend 49ers Season Opener

49ers fans are spending big in order to make a big visit to Levi's Stadium.

$1,605 for three tickets, $392 for one seat, $165 for a place to stand.

A view of the 49ers at the new Levi's Stadium does not come cheap, but 49ers fans are more than willing to pay what it takes for a spot for the Niners' first game at their new $1.3 billion home.

The San Jose Mercury Newsreported that the "average advertised priced" for a seat at the home opener on Sunday during the week was $309.

To take a family of four to a game at Levi's, 49er Faithful require at least $642 -- for tickets, parking, food, and "apparel," the "widely-cited Team Marketing Report" found, according to the newspaper.

Many people are paying much more -- for fewer seats.

A 25-year-old from San Jose reported selling his two tickets and a parking pass for $1,650, or triple face value, the newspaper reported -- which is good, as they can't technically afford to go to a game yet.

They're selling off those seats and others in order to pay off the $12,000 they invested for season tickets. Once that debt is cleared, they can start going to games.

Sunday's home opener has an "epic" opening ceremony, team officials promise, and is technically the first "real" 49ers game at the new stadium.

But, as the Mercury News reported, it may yet be a deal: tickets for the upcoming game against the hated archrival Seattle Seahawks later this year are going for an average of $530.
