Bit.ly Raises $15 Million in Funding

URL-shortening service gets a big shot of funding.

URL-shortening is where the money is.

Bit.ly has secured $15 million in its latest round of funding led by Khosla Ventures.

The URL--shortening service allows users to easily shrink a URL and use it on social media sites such as Twitter.

The site also offers instant analytics for its users to see how many times people have clicked on their links or how many times they have been liked on Facebook or re-tweeted on Twitter.

A recent redesign has also made it easier for users to discover other content Bit.ly users are sharing.

The New York-based startup has raised $28.5 million to date.
