Put earmuffs on the dog, secure the windows, and sit back, relax, and wait for the scream and whine of jet engines: The Blue Angels are back in town.
The US Navy and Marine Corps flight Demonstration Squadron -- that's the Blue Angels' real name, don't you know -- will put on a show this weekend. But they'll fly all week as they prepare their arsenal of stunts over San Francisco Bay.
The Angels are scheduled to practice from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 4 and 5 -- that's Thursday and Friday -- and they'll be the pent ultimate act during the air shows Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The Oakland International Airport is issuing a noise warning ahead of the F-18 jets' trips over the Bay, the Oakland Tribune reported.
"Aircraft noise complaints can be directed to the Fleet Week Info Line at 650-599-5057, or the Oakland International Airport's Noise Hotline at 510-563-6463," according to the newspaper.
