A 70-year-old man who had been living on a boat at the Santa Cruz Harbor was found dead in the water at the harbor on Sunday, a police spokesman said.

Santa Cruz and harbor police responded to a call at around 9 a.m. Sunday about a body floating in the water, Santa Cruz police Lt. Dan Flippo said.

Officers examined the boat where the man had lived and found no signs of foul play, Flippo reported.

The man's name is being withheld until family members are notified of his death, according to the Santa Cruz County coroner's office.

Santa Cruz police are asking anyone with information about the death to call the department's Investigations Bureau at (831) 420-5820.
